ABSTRACT

Case Synopsis Phat is a 33-year-old Cambodian woman who appeared almost expressionless, but with barely concealed sadness in the fi rst interview. Her chief complaint was “I have lost everything,” but her multiple symptoms included poor sleep, irritability, lack of enjoyment, fatigue, and depressed mood. On further questioning she mentioned she had nightmares two times a week of bloody, gory scenes that had been real events during her 4 years of Pol Pot concentration camp experience.
