ABSTRACT

The mechanical characteristics of the oblique longitudinal joints of shield tunnel under different load conditions was studied by 1:1 joint tensile performance test. Research indicates: the longitudinal joint of the inclined bolt will affect the stress distribution on the surface of the longitudinal joint and the outer surface of the segment during the drawing process. When the tension is perpendicular to the joint surface named vertical pulling condition the bearing capacity can be fully exerted because it can take proper cooperation with the concrete strength. The ultimate failure mode of the structure is the connection failure between the bolt, the sleeve and the concrete. Under the condition of drawing along the axis of bolt, cone destruction will occur around the orifice of the longitudinal seam face near the outer surface. While under the vertical pulling condition, the internal thread of the sleeve is destroyed because of being crushed.
