ABSTRACT

What was abundantly clear in the self-report measures is the presence of more inattention (than hyperactive or impulsive) and anxiety symptoms manifested in various forms. Anxiety affects sleep, and creates a more emotional individuals. Neuropsychological testing over this extensive period of time provided consistent test profiles documenting the presence of a genetic attention disorder and differentiating it from additional issues labeled as ADHD plus (ADD plus an additional disorder). Those with ADHD plus performed worse on the testing than the ADD or ADHD Inattentive Type. Neuropsychological testing provides confirmation of the cognitive symptoms of a genetic attention disorder and accompanying self-report measures that primarily reveal symptoms of inattention.
