ABSTRACT
In contrast to the closed population models of Chapter 3, the capturerecapture models of this chapter are open, and animals may die and possibly migrate during the periods of observation. Here we provide an introduction to models for estimating the key demographic parameter of survival probability, from data collected on individually identifiable animals.
