ABSTRACT

In recent study by the World Health Organization (WHO), the third most killer disease in the world is the cardiovascular disease, and about one-third of global population are affected by this heart diseases. However, due to advancement in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and computation system, the prediction heart disease provides remarkable solution. In fact, increase in the computer technology-based decision support system for healthcare system has added necessity of cost-effective and performance efficient systems. The aim of this chapter is to address heart disease diagnosis through swarm intelligence and evolutionary algorithms. First, the necessity of prediction and classification of heart disease using machine learning/swarm intelligence are addressed. Next, the diagnosis of coronary artery disease using the evolutionary algorithm are discussed. Then predicting heart attacks in patients using artificial intelligence methods are discussed. Further, swarm intelligence-based optimization problem for heart disease diagnosis are presented. Finally, applying evolutionary algorithms for heart disease diagnosis are discussed.
