ABSTRACT

Dendrimers are radially symmetrical, highly branched, monodisperse and nanosized multipurpose molecules, which can be synthesised mainly by divergent and convergent approaches. They can be synthesised by changing functionality in their core and inner and outer shells that provided alteration in several properties such as solubility and thermal stability, which make them molecules to be used for many applications such as catalysts, drug delivery, photodynamic therapy and bio-imaging applications. This chapter will highlight the synthetic development of different strategies used for the preparation of dendrimers with advantages and limitations.
