ABSTRACT

Systemic theories and systems thinking provide a frame of reference for new management thinking. Systems theory combines perspectives from several sciences, and these perspectives all have a common feature in that they seek to understand as a wholeness. The key features of Systems Dictatorship are its invisibility and multi-layered nature. As with organizational culture Systems Dictatorship is formed as a result of activities over a longer period of time. Even though the systemic theories sometimes stray perhaps too far from the everyday reality of organizations and management teams, systems thinking is applicable to the daily life of management teams in many ways. A number of researchers into teamwork and management teams have tried to model what a successful working experience looks like. The management team talks about external stakeholders - the most important of them are customers - and internal stakeholders, which include, for example, signals coming from within the organization.
