ABSTRACT

Throughout this book there have been suggestions about the ways that drama can be used to develop children’s understanding about science in various contexts: sports (or the Olympics), exploration (where new habitats, plants or animals may be encountered), desert island (where the main focus is ‘survival’), food (to help children appreciate the need for a balanced diet as well as recognising where food comes from) and toys (where physical science, and topics such as forces and materials are important).
