ABSTRACT

Preservation of cultural heritage sites in the process of restoration and construction works during overhaul and reconstruction of facilities in the historical center of Saint Petersburg depends largely not only on architectural but also on technological solutions adopted in method statements and flow diagrams for individual works. One of the factors for the preservation of culturally significant elements of historic buildings is the high-quality repair of roofs using new building technologies and materials to reinforce wooden rafters. In addition to the traditional methods of reinforcing rafters, the authors propose to analyze the use of composite profiles and rods for the manufacture of reinforcing plates and ties. The results of experiments conducted to assess the deformation of composite materials are considered. Fiberglass profiles to reinforce rafters are proposed.
