ABSTRACT
Temples were the setting for the performance of a wide variety of cult actionsthat provided the basic structure of ancient Egyptian religion and the means of communication between the divine and profane realms. Most cult actions took the form of offering rituals in which the king is shown giving the god(s) food, drink, flowers, incense or other gifts.
