ABSTRACT

Following locum appointments in Plymouth and Bristol, Terence John Kemple joined Horfield Health Centre in Bristol as a partner in 1982. He had a successful and fulfilling clinical career before retiring as senior partner in December 2015. In 2012, following a friend’s encouragement, Kemple decided to stand in the election for president of the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP). Having been unsuccessful in this attempt, he stood again for the role in 2015. On 4 June 2015, the RCGP announced that Kemple was successful in his standing and was to be elected as its 24th President. Kemple announced that he would also use his presidency to promote the new Green Impact for Health project. The scheme started with a pilot in April 2015 and aims to help practices to improve their environmental, ethical and economic sustainability. In his spare time, Kemple has various hobbies and interests.
