ABSTRACT
In April 1989 the University of Liverpool hosted a Cixous Colloquium. The name of the event encapsulates its aim: to introduce a conversation between French feminist writing and teaching and British feminism. Cixous’ double, two hour-long lecture ‘therapies’ were models of feminist theory, ranging as they did through psychoanalysis, history and culture.
