ABSTRACT

As noted in the Preface to the 2003 edition of this book, on our FIFA quest we often divide up research responsibilities so that we can cover more ground on our slender budgets. During the 2002 World Cup Alan Tomlinson concentrated on the Seoul Congress and followed up some research trails in the South Pacic and Oceania region. John Sugden was in Japan, to pick up the FIFA scent and also to gather material for his book on football’s black market, Scum Airways. John’s two projects overlapped around the question of tickets.
