ABSTRACT

Since the end of World War II, and particularly in the last two decades, political terrorism has become one of the main challenges to the existing international order. As a region of the world, the Middle East has been second to none as an arena not only for conventional warfare but also for virtually all forms of terrorism, and among the numerous conflicts of the Middle East, the Arab-Israeli dispute has been responsible for generating more terrorism than any other conflict. For these reasons terrorism as a means for promoting the objectives of the parties to the Arab-Israeli conflict requires special attention.
