ABSTRACT

Pliocene-Pleistocene sediments crop out along the Nile Valley as far south as Aswan, along the Red Sea coast, in the Cairo-Suez district, and the northern Western Desert. Pliocene-Pleistocene sediments also occur in the subsurface of the Nile Delta region, offshore Sinai and in the Nile Cone in the Mediterranian Sea. Pliocene and Pleistocene deposits of Wadi Qena were reviewed extensively by Sandford (1929).
