Texture and Quantum Entropy Algorithms for Oil Spill Detection in Synthetic Aperture Radar Images

This chapter compiles conventional texture algorithm and advanced entropy algorithm for automatic detection of the oil spill. The conventional texture algorithms are based on contrast, homogeneity, entropy and angular second-moment algorithms. The advanced algorithm of entropy is based on quantum entropy. It is shown that the conventional texture algorithm based on the co-occurrence algorithm based on Entropy has a higher performance than contrast, homogeneity and angular second moment. However, the quantum entropy delivers better automatic detection than entropy.
