ABSTRACT

When any two things are fixed to each other, we say that a bond exists. In chemical compounds, positively charged nuclei from two or more elements become fixed relative to each other. They do not touch, but are simply firmly fixed at some very small distance from each other and it is said that a chemical bond is present. There are actually five classes into which bonds are generally divided, although the boundaries between them are not well defined.
