ABSTRACT

The time division multiplier (TDM) can be implemented using a triangular wave, a saw tooth wave or without using any reference clock. There are two types of TDMs: multiplexing TDMs and switching TDMs. A time division multiplier using analog 2-to-1 multiplexers is called a multiplexing TDM. A time division multiplier using analog switches is called a switching TDM. Design series and shunt switching time division multipliers with a saw tooth wave generator. Design series- and shunt-type time division multipliers from this triangular wave generator. Draw waveforms at appropriate places and deduce expressions for the output voltages. The circuit diagrams of saw tooth wave–based time division multipliers type I and their associated waveforms.
