ABSTRACT

When confronted with stories of extremely monstrous and inhuman abuses which have until now been hidden, not only the false memory movement but also our clients themselves, as well as the courts and society in general, ask whether these things can actually be the truth. Even if in a client's memory it appears obvious that it's Father coming into the room, either his identity will appear as dissociated material sooner or later, or it won't. Careful consideration of the client's motivation is necessary, recognizing that it may be an expression of great inner hardship, and that the client probably lacks the words for the genuine hardship or can't perceive it well. If during the assessment by the expert witnesses very painful experiences were addressed, then the client viewed these experiences from a perspective as if she were sitting behind a glass partition.
