ABSTRACT

Projective two-chair techniques are widely used by transactional analysts, particularly in working with Parent ego states and in promoting resolution of dif®culties between Parent and Child ego states. These methods were introduced into TA by the Gouldings (Goulding and Goulding, 1979), who were taught these methods by Fritz Perls. They have been subsequently developed by a number of TA authors, including John McNeel's Parent Interview method (McNeel, 1976) and more recently by Richard Erskine (Erskine et al., 1999).
