Regardlessofwhetherwecancomprehendthefactofexistencewithinatheoretical structure,itisclearlysomethingimpressive.Theexactformoftheimpressionthatit makesmayvaryaccordingtothecontextinwhichitisappreciated,andperhapsthe dispositionwehaveatthetime.Heideggerclaimsthatthefundamentalquestionmay beaskedincontextsofanxietyandboredom,whileSmithclaimsthatourbasic appreciationoftheworldinvolvesafeelingofjoy.Infactthereareseveralappropriate reactions,andthedifferentwaysinwhichwecanapprehendthefactofexistence helptodeterminewhichkindsofresponsearefitting.
