ABSTRACT

The way we handle our technical resources not only determines our everyday actions but also determines our thinking. Depending on what media men have been working with throughout history, they have understood humanity in a rather different way. Thus, the so-called new media have an impact on our self-image as human beings. And they may also affect our understanding of God. In my contribution, I will explore the question how the use of the Internet and the encounter with artificial intelligence may change the way people think of God, address God and finally believe in God. Besides, I will investigate how the Church can handle these changes and what challenges religious communities are currently facing.
