ABSTRACT

Looks at the way unfinished business from earlier in life can accumulate into unresolved grief that may be provoked by a new relationship. There’s a quiz to see how the reader manages their own unfinished business, advice about how to manage feelings of loss and how this can affect a relationship. For instance, depression is explored in terms of its effect on the relationship and both the individuals within it. How vulnerability and needs are expressed are also approached, with an exercise to help. There’s also advice on managing online behaviour and an exercise on how to use past experience in a new relationship. Case studies are used to illustrate many of the points in this chapter.
