George Augustus Sala, from ‘On the “Sensational” in Literature and Art', Belgravia

Sala (1828–96), journalist and novelist, had been one of ‘Mr Dickens’s young men’ on Household Words, and later wrote a biographical sketch and sundry reminiscences of him. Belgravia was edited by Miss M. E. Braddon, the leading ‘Sensation Novelist’, and Sala’s article was one in a series on ‘The Sensational in…’ this and that.
