ABSTRACT

The digital creative industry is an industry that combines creative and digital elements in products and services. West Java is one of the provinces in Indonesia which becomes the center of the digital creative industry. The objective of this study is to explore the role of community in upgrading digital creative industry’s performance. This article was based on research conducted on digital creative industries in West Java. The research was conducted using survey method and the data was analyzed by descriptive analysis. The role of the community in improving the business performance of the digital creative industry were cooperating with educational and government institutions to develop entrepreneurial capacity and provide business coaching and mentoring. Communities become a means for establishing and developing business entities and sharing knowledge amongst the digital creative industry businesses and the medium of knowledge sharing amongst business actors of the digital creative industry.
