ABSTRACT
Hazard mitigation is the assessment of risk and assignment of actions to reduce the severity of the impacts of hazard and to minimize the adverse consequences of the event. Hazard mitigation planning is the resultant prioritization and organization of potential mitigation actions into a comprehensive plan designed to reduce risk systematically across a jurisdiction or enterprise.
