ABSTRACT

The Andalusian Institute of Historical Heritage (IAPH) is a public agency of the Ministry of Culture of the Andalusian Regional Government, accredited as a member of the Andalusian Knowledge System since 2011. The IAPH launched a research project on the use of lime and its applications in conservation with the aim of establishing criteria for the use of materials compatible with traditional and historical masonry. The methodological document that it is proposed is structured in two parts: the first one focuses on the definition of heritage, identifying the scope and formulating procedures based on a tested methodology. The second part deals with the generation of requisites for the conservation of cultural assets which are amenable to standardization, in compliance with standards and recommendations.
