ABSTRACT

Education is forever changing and developing, and presents an opportunity to conduct inquiries and small-scale research which can be used to improve teaching and learning. This chapter outlines some basic examples which can be conducted alongside teaching as an aid to support reflections and personal development. This includes using participation data to inform your extra-curricular offer, and how to conduct observations to improve your own teaching practice. This chapter also outlines how action research can be used to help share teaching ideas, and improve teaching and learning within your department or within your school.
