ABSTRACT

This chapter is designed as a tool for students and professionals to carry in any setting, providing a quick reference guide to supporting women during labour. Around 75% of VBAC women will have a successful vaginal birth after CS within a hospital or home environment; some even have pool births. Occasionally, the reason for a repeat CS in the remaining 25% is uterine rupture; however, the risks still exist. Caution must be taken when considering ARM, induction and/or augmentation with oxytocic drugs. The chapter provides step-by-step process for performing routine care of vaginal birth after Caesarean. It explains signs of rupture, including pain, contractions, fetal heart, woman, and bleeding.
