ABSTRACT

This chapter looks at what Value Dominant Logic (VDL) is, and the several principles of VDL. Value and its creation are a basic requirement or a necessity for sustained human flourishing and the advancement of human activity, behaviour, of caring, of well-being, and progress and creativity. Value and its creation must exceed value destruction or reduce negative value and be done consciously. From a practitioner and common-sense point of view, value is the good, well-being and worth we create for ourselves and others through our actions, beliefs, circumstances and thoughts. Disruption is the waking up of people, becoming aware of latent value and value waiting to happen. Service Dominant Logic suggests that an actor-centric approach is a value -centric perspective. In addition, entrepreneurial activities are fundamental to value creation. Thus, thinking like entrepreneurs helps in value creation.
