ABSTRACT

One method of supporting the moulds and floor slab during construction is to provide a level decking of boarding. plywood or steel. Figs 1 & 2 show a typical formwork arrangement. This type of decking is suitable for square moulds The 900mm!825mm moulds. may be used with a Skeletal or Quickstrip formwork. Fig 3. This will give a minimum rib width of 125mm and a rib spacing of 900mm c/c in both directions. The cleats, secured by double headed nails as shown, may be struck after about three days and the moulds removed for re-use, the supporting joists remaining in position, to be struck at a later stage.
