ABSTRACT

The wind field characteristics of bridge sites in mountainous areas are more complex than those in plain areas, which is strongly affected by the geography. This paper established several measuring points at different heights of the middle tower of a cable-stayed bridge with tree towers and obtained the wind speed time series, then the mean wind characteristics and fluctuating wind characteristics of the wind field are studied. The analysis results show that the wind profile index and the turbulence wind speed power spectrum of the mountain bridge are different from the curves in the Chinese specification, and the wind attack angle and turbulence intensity are also larger than the recommended values in the Chinese specification. The research methods and related results of on-site wind environment monitoring and analysis in this paper can provide reference for wind-resistant design of similar bridges.
