ABSTRACT

The preconditions for the development of wind power are set by the national policies of a country and by the laws and regulations that are inaugurated by its parliament. And politicians also decide the economic rules of the game: taxes, charges, subsidies and other means of control often affect energy prices, on top of the actual cost of power production. There are also different ways to promote wind power and other renewable energy sources. In short, politicians set the framework for wind power development and thus influence the pace of development.
