ABSTRACT
For as long as I can remember, there has been a constant two-way borrowing between geography and the humanities. So what justifies the call for a “geohumanities” at this time? I think the answer to this question lies in the nature of contemporary social change, a broadening of perspectives on the way we know things, and the responses of particular academic disciplines to these material and cognitive adjustments.
