When New Zealand’s highest paid female senior manager, Theresa Gattung, resigned in 2007 as CEO of the telco, Telecom, the business media wrote: “Let’s face it, the woman had to go, she was too honest. In today’s business world, that simply won’t do.” (Fairfax Business Media, 2007).
