ABSTRACT

For the construction industry, Occupational Safety and Health Administration's regulation titled "Safety Training and Education" states that construction employers must provide their workers with training on the following topics: The recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions and the regulations applicable to the work environment, Proper handling practices for the use of poisons, caustics, and other harmful substances, and awareness training on personal hygiene and personal protective equipment, Where harmful plants or animals are present on the job site, what are the potential hazards, how to avoid injury, and acceptable first aid procedures to be used in the event of injury, Proper handling practices for flammable liquids, gases, or toxic materials and If they are required to enter into confined or enclosed spaces, the nature of the hazards involved, and appropriate equipment to be used. All training should be conducted at a level appropriate to the needs and abilities of the people in the course.
