ABSTRACT
In this chapter the author discusses John 4:19–24, which carries the encounter between Jesus and the Woman of Samaria, to unveil the notion of differences in the text which is demonstrated by nationality, gender, and class. The author argues that the encounter between Jesus and the Woman of Samaria, which took place in a context of liturgy, offers a framework for rebuilding social relations that is useful for contemporary Pentecostal liturgical experiences within the South African context.
